Randy & Sandra Barr, Feeding Mexico's Children
This year, we added almost 400 new children to our "family", with more wanting to be adopted. This has been a year of change and challenge for us. While our own living expenses are currently covered, we need others to join us in prayer and financial support to keep the children fed and to increase the number of children filled not only with food, but with the life-giving food of the gospel.
I recently visited a very poor village about one hour south of where we catch our water taxi. Chimo has 73 children in Kindergarten and Primary school. They would like our help, but we would need an additional $400 to $500 per month to meet their needs.
This is just one village of many that we could impact if we had more resources. Please pray how God may use you to partner with us in this ministry. God bless, and we miss you all!
Ministry Objective: To show God's love by providing school lunches for children, thereby building relationships and gaining the opportunity to share the Gospel.
Sphere of Influence: Our more effective spheres include those in the Puerto Vallarta area who speak English: two couples with pre-marriage and marriage counseling, friends from the gym and the water taxi, and two possible Bible Study groups we've been asked to start; as we learn Spanish and continue using translators, we hope to increase our influence and to help the school teachers, children, parents, and villagers.
Prayer Needs: Wisdom, Guidance, and Finances for the school lunches. Our ministry and ability to feed more children at this point is only hindered by lack of funding in order to purchase the food. Also, for salvation of those with whom we have relationships.
